Game Pass adds Forza Horizon 6 and Subnautica 2 in May — plus 12 more titles
Game Pass is getting two of the year's biggest releases in May: open-world racer Forza Horizon 6 on May 19 and survival co-op Subnautica 2 in Early Access on May 14, both included at no extra cost for PC Game Pass and Ultimate subscribers. Microsoft confirmed the full first-wave lineup via Xbox Wire, which lists 14 additions across the month's first half. If you've been on the fence about subscribing, this is probably the strongest case Microsoft has made in a while.
The big two
Forza Horizon 6 is set in Japan — a first for the series — with a map centered on Tokyo City that's reportedly five times the size of Edinburgh from Forza Horizon 4. Over 550 cars are included at launch, with a heavy JDM slant. The game has already gone gold and preloads are live. Standard access opens May 19 on Xbox Series X/S and PC (via Microsoft Store and Steam); Premium Edition buyers get in four days early on May 15.
Subnautica 2 enters Early Access on May 14 at 15:00 UTC — mid-afternoon in the UK, morning on the East Coast. It launches on Steam, Epic Games Store, Xbox Game Preview, and Game Pass simultaneously at $29.99. The headline addition over the original is four-player co-op from day one, replacing what was previously a mods-only workaround. Unknown Worlds has confirmed a 2–3 year Early Access roadmap, and the price will rise once the full version ships.
The rest of May's first wave
Twelve other titles round out the wave. Mixtape, a narrative indie, arrives May 7. Horror slot Call of the Elder Gods and space sim Elite Dangerous (Xbox) land May 12. DOOM: The Dark Ages joins Game Pass Premium on May 14. Earlier in the month, Final Fantasy V, Wildgate, and Wuchang: Fallen Feathers also drop across various tiers.
Five games exit the catalog on May 15: Galacticare, Go Mecha Ball, Kulebra and the Souls of Limbo, Paw Patrol: Rescue Wheels, and Planet of Lana. If any of those are on your list, finish them before the deadline.
