Summer Game Fest 2026 drops its first trailer — and a Capcom rumour steals the show

Summer Game Fest 2026 is one month out, and Geoff Keighley has released a hype trailer to mark the occasion. The two-hour show takes place June 5 at 23:00 CEST (10pm BST / 2pm PT) at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, streaming across all major platforms. With E3 gone for good, SGF has become the de facto centrepiece of the summer games calendar — and this year Keighley is calling it the "biggest Summer Game Fest yet."

The lineup so far

The trailer runs through a reel of previously announced games still heading toward release: Resident Evil Requiem, Pragmata, Control Resonant, 007 First Light, Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis, Gothic 1 Remake, The Blood of Dawnwalker, Saros, Star Wars: Galactic Racer, and more. The editing is slick — quick cuts, punchy music — but nothing new is revealed. Think of it as a reminder that there's a lot on the way, not a peek behind the curtain.

Naughty Dog has also teased a showing for Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, per Notebookcheck, though the game isn't expected to launch until 2027.

The rumour everyone's watching

The real pre-show conversation centres on Capcom. Insider Dusk Golem has called a Resident Evil Code Veronica Remake reveal at SGF 2026 "incredibly likely," per Khelnow. Capcom has not confirmed anything. It's worth keeping expectations in check — insider tips on SGF announcements have a mixed track record — but the RE remake machine has been running hot, and Code Veronica is one of the few major entries in the series yet to get the treatment.

Competition in June

SGF doesn't have the June showcase space to itself. The Xbox Games Showcase, Nintendo Direct, and Sony's State of Play are all expected within the same window, spreading attention across multiple events. The four-day SGF structure (June 5–8) includes Play Days and Game Business Live alongside the main show, which gives it more bulk than a single-night reveal event. Whether the content matches the scale is the question.

If the Capcom rumour pays off, June 5 could be a genuinely memorable night. If it doesn't, there's still a packed slate of already-announced games to look forward to.
