BMW Motorrad CE 04: electric scooter with 130 km power range, acceleration to 50 km/h in 2.6 seconds with the price $12,000

German manufacturer BMW has announced a production version of the Motorrad CE 04 electric scooter. Its concept was shown last year.

What we know

The production version is almost identical in appearance to the concept model. It has the same futuristic design. The electric scooter is equipped with an 8.9 kWh battery. According to the company, it provides a range of up to 130 km. It also boasts of accelerating to 50 km/h in 2.6 seconds, a top speed of 130 km/h and support for fast charging up to 6.9 kW. Such a station can charge a Motorrad CE 04 in 1 hour and 40 minutes. If you use a regular socket, it takes 4 hours and 20 minutes.

The scooter also has a 10.25-inch information display, built-in navigation, the ability to connect a smartphone and charge it on the go, a special compartment for a helmet, 15-inch wheels, ABS system, and four driving modes: ECO, Rain, Road and Dynamic. The latter will be offered as an option.

Price and when to expect

If all goes according to plan, BMW Motorrad CE 04 will go on sale in 2022. It will start at $12,000.
