GTA VI preorders may open next week — and six editions could be coming

GTA VI preorders may be only days away, if a leaked Best Buy affiliate email is accurate. The email, sent to affiliate partners on May 13–14, referenced a May 18–21 window with a 5% commission on preorders — and GG.deals' leak compilation notes it has since been independently corroborated by Insider Gaming. Rockstar has not officially confirmed any preorder date, pricing, or edition structure as of May 15, 2026.

The editions rumor

Alongside the retailer leak, insider account Detective Seeds claims Rockstar is preparing six purchase options:

- Three standard digital and physical tiers (likely a Standard, Deluxe, and Premium structure) - One collector's edition - Two console bundles — a PS5 edition and a PS5 Pro edition, both with a digital download code

The PS5 and PS5 Pro bundles would fit Sony's confirmed marketing partnership with Rockstar. Sony holds the PlayStation marketing rights for GTA VI, a deal visible as early as the second trailer, which was explicitly shot on PS5. A comparable PS5 Pro bundle — the EA FC 26 edition — launched at £699.99 / €799.99, per Notebookcheck's PlayStation bundle analysis, giving a rough sense of what a GTA VI hardware bundle could cost.

Detective Seeds also suggests a third GTA VI trailer could drop before preorders open — possibly within the next day or two. None of this has been confirmed by Rockstar.

The launch

GTA VI is officially set for November 19, 2026, on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S only, per the Rockstar official announcement. A PC release is not yet dated. Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick has previously indicated standard pricing in the $70–80 range; premium editions above $100 have not been ruled out but would risk a backlash given the game's already troubled delay history — it slipped from fall 2025 to a May 2026 target before landing on November 19.

For now, nothing is official. If the Best Buy leak holds, preorder pages at retailers like GameStop, Amazon, Walmart, and Best Buy itself could go live as early as this weekend.
