Sony May Revive InFamous Franchise with Remakes, But Sucker Punch Won't Be Involved

Before working on the successful samurai action games Ghost of Tsushima and Ghost of Yotei, the American studio Sucker Punch was developing InFamous — a series of dynamic action games about people with supernatural abilities, which was one of PlayStation's flagship IPs.

inFamous was forgotten after 2014 when games with the subtitles Second Son and First Light were released, but sometimes hints about its possible return appear online. New information on this topic was shared by reputable VGC journalist Jordan Middler.

What is Known

Referring to his sources at Sony, Middler reported that the company is interested in further developing inFamous and is even working on a certain project, but already without Sucker Punch's involvement. His insider did not specify which game is underway, but from the context, Middler understood that these might be remakes of the first series parts, which were released in 2009 and 2010.

The author himself is uncertain about the reliability of his information and urged to wait for reports from other sources, but overall he believes that nothing prevents Sony from reviving the well-known brand, which once successfully competed with the Prototype duology, but eventually both series disappeared from the radar.
