Xiaomi's Strong Wind Pro floor AC claims 10-year warranty — but it's China-only for now
Xiaomi has launched a floor-standing air conditioner in China that claims to cool a room in 15 seconds and carry a 10-year warranty — performance figures that would turn heads in any market. The Mijia Air Conditioner Strong Wind Pro goes on sale in China at an introductory price of 6,499 yuan (around $955), but there is no confirmed plan to bring it to the US or UK.
The hardware
The Strong Wind Pro is a tall, freestanding unit built around a dual-cylinder compressor. It pushes 1,820 m³/h of airflow across a 115-degree spread, which Xiaomi says eliminates the dead zones common with wall-mounted splits in large living rooms. Copper heat exchangers are used for both the condenser and evaporator — a choice that improves thermal efficiency and, in theory, longevity.
According to Xiaomi, the unit starts cooling within 15 seconds of switching on and reaches heating output within 30 seconds. An intensive mode can drop room temperature by 8°C in 10 minutes. The APF (Annual Performance Factor) energy efficiency rating is listed at 5.31, which is a strong result for a unit of this output class.
The warranty claim
The headline number is the 10-year warranty — far beyond the 2–5 year coverage offered by Daikin, LG, and Panasonic on comparable units. Xiaomi attributes the durability to the all-copper heat exchanger construction, but the claim has not been independently verified. Treat it as a manufacturer's promise until third-party testing catches up, as noted by Gizmochina (May 2026).
Like every recent Xiaomi home product, the Strong Wind Pro is tied into the Xiaomi ecosystem: remote control via the Xiaomi Home app, OTA firmware updates, and compatibility with smart home automation routines through HyperOS.
What's actually available outside China
The Strong Wind Pro is a China-exclusive launch. The closest Xiaomi AC product available in Europe is the Mijia Pro Eco series (2.6 kW and 3.5 kW), which launched across Germany, France, Spain, and Italy at €599–€699, as confirmed by NotebookCheck (Sept 2025). That line is A+++ rated and EU-compliant, but offers 30-second cooling startup rather than 15. No Xiaomi AC models are officially available in the US or UK as of May 2026. If the Pro Eco expansion signals anything, it's that Xiaomi is serious about the category — the Strong Wind Pro just isn't part of that rollout yet.
