Honor Win Turbo: a 10,080mAh phone that drops the fan for stronger signal
Honor is launching the Win Turbo on May 29 in China — a phone built around a 10,080mAh battery that doubles the capacity of most 2026 smartphones. The company claims over 14 hours of continuous gaming and more than 22 hours of video playback on a single charge. There's no UK or US release announced, but it signals where Honor's mid-range ambitions are heading.
The signal play
The headline feature isn't the battery — it's Honor's second-generation Hongyan Communication technology. According to Huawei Central, the system pairs a six-section antenna with a C1+ RF chip and claims a 200% boost in weak-signal reception versus the previous generation. Six-band cellular and a dedicated Wi-Fi capture module round out the connectivity stack. Honor uses a similar setup in the Magic 6 series, though these figures haven't been independently verified against rival hardware.
What's inside
The chipset is a MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Elite, which scores around 2.4 million points in AnTuTu benchmarks. That's a meaningful step down from the original Win's Snapdragon 8 Elite — roughly 40% lower — so this is a mid-range gaming phone, not a flagship. The 6.79-inch 1.5K LTPS display and 50MP OIS main camera are standard fare for the segment.
One notable trade-off: the Win Turbo drops the active turbine fan that made the original Win stand out. Passive vapor-chamber cooling replaces it, saving space for the larger battery but leaving thermal performance under sustained gaming loads unproven until post-launch reviews arrive.
Charging is 80W wired. The 27W reverse wireless charging effectively turns the phone into a power bank for earbuds or a friend's device — a practical touch given the cell's sheer size. The IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings mean it can handle high-pressure, high-temperature water jets, not just a splash.
Availability
The Win Turbo is a China-exclusive launch timed around the June 618 shopping festival, per Gagadget. Honor has not announced any roadmap for the US, UK, or wider European retail. The previous Win RT did appear in Germany through import channels at around €360, so gray-market options may eventually surface — but expect a premium on top of that if they do. For now, this one stays on the Chinese shelf.
