Asus made an RTX 5090 with a curved AMOLED screen nobody asked for

Asus has unveiled a special-edition RTX 5090 graphics card at Computex 2026, and its headline feature has nothing to do with performance. The ROG Astral GeForce RTX 5090 Edition 20 wraps a curved AMOLED display around the side and rear of the card to celebrate 20 years of the ROG brand. No price has been confirmed, but expect to pay well above the already steep custom-AIB premium — likely in the £3,500–£4,500 range.

The look

The AMOLED panel can show real-time GPU stats — temperature, clock speed, load — or loop a 3D animation if you'd rather have eye candy than data. Beyond the screen, the card ships with a transparent backplate, a black-and-gold design scheme, and a commemorative anniversary coin in the box. None of that changes what's happening inside the GPU die.

The curved AMOLED display wraps around the chassis and can show live GPU stats or 3D visuals.

The specs

Under the hood it's still an RTX 5090. Asus clocks it at 2,760 MHz OC Boost, which is 353 MHz above NVIDIA's reference 2,407 MHz design. TweakTown puts that at up to 10% faster than the Founders Edition in gaming workloads. A quad-fan cooler, vapor chamber, and liquid-metal thermal interface handle the 800W power draw, fed via two inputs — a standard PCIe connector plus a detachable GC-HPWR adapter for BTF motherboards.

The reality

The RTX 5090 Founders Edition is currently available in the UK at £1,799–£1,889 via NVIDIA's own marketplace. Custom AIB models already command 50–80% premiums over that MSRP, and competitors like MSI, Gigabyte, and Colorful are shipping triple-fan custom 5090s at well below what Edition 20 is expected to cost. Tom's Hardware frames the card squarely around "visual expression" rather than any meaningful thermal or performance advantage over cheaper custom designs.

Asus has promised a 2026 release but hasn't committed to a specific date or regional pricing. Given the card is positioned as a collector's anniversary item more than a mainstream GPU, availability outside flagship retail channels may be limited.
