Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis gets a February 2027 release date
Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis now has a firm launch date — February 12, 2027 — confirmed during a PlayStation State of Play alongside a new gameplay trailer. The remake, co-developed by Crystal Dynamics and Flying Wild Hog and published by Amazon Game Studios, was originally targeted for 2026 before slipping. It lands on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC via Steam, and Nintendo Switch 2.
The remake
Built from scratch in Unreal Engine 5, Legacy of Atlantis revisits Lara Croft's debut adventure across locations in Greece, Egypt, Peru, and beyond. The visuals are a significant step up — environments are densely detailed, dinosaurs look far more convincing, and the game's notorious difficulty has been tuned down to feel less punishing by modern standards. Unconfirmed reports from Amazon's own listing also suggest post-launch DLC is in the works, though nothing has been officially announced.
Editions and price
Three editions go on sale now for pre-order. The Standard Edition is priced at $59.99, the Deluxe Edition at $69.99 — with 48-hour early access baked in — and a Collector's Edition at $199.99. Pre-orders are live on Steam and PSN, per the PlayStation Blog. UK-specific retail pricing from chains like Amazon UK or GAME has not been confirmed yet.
The localization gap
One detail worth flagging: French and German players get full audio and text localization, but Spanish speakers in Spain are limited to text-only subtitles. Latin American Spanish does include a full voice dub, making the omission of Castilian audio a pointed choice. As SEENIT noted, the gap has already drawn criticism from the Spanish fan community — the Croft Generation site is actively tracking a petition for a full Spanish dub. It's an early signal that Amazon Game Studios may be applying a tiered approach to European localization.
February 12, 2027 is a quieter window on the release calendar, though it sits in the long shadow of GTA 6's expected launch. For fans of the original game, it's a long wait — but the trailer suggests Crystal Dynamics is treating the source material seriously.
