Corning unveils Gorilla Glass DX and DX+: protective glasses for smartphone cameras
Corning introduced Gorilla Glass DX and DX+ protective glasses for wearable electronics in 2018, and has now released similar versions for protecting smartphones' cameras.
What we know
The glasses for the cameras got the same names, but according to the company, they differ in their structure. Thanks to this, new items with scratches do not damage the quality of photos and videos. Also, protective glasses can boast of a new composite material. It allows 98% of ambient light to pass through. For comparison, with conventional anti-reflective lenses, this figure is 95%.
According to Corning, Samsung smartphones will be the first to receive Gorilla Glass DX and DX+. Most likely, we are talking about folding devices Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3. They should be presented at Galaxy Unpacked on August 11.
