Dell's Alleged New Mini PC Has a Processor That Doesn't Exist
A report from Chinese outlet ithome claims Dell has launched a new mini PC called the Pro Micro E, powered by an AMD Ryzen 5 150 processor and priced at roughly $630. There's one problem: no such processor exists in AMD's current lineup, and Dell lists no such product in its US, UK, or global storefronts.
The claim
According to ithome, the Pro Micro E sits in Dell's compact Micro chassis — a 1.2-litre box measuring 182×36×178 mm and weighing between 1.16 and 1.40 kg. That form factor is real: Dell's verified Pro Micro line does use that chassis, and it supports VESA mounting for behind-monitor placement. The port selection described — HDMI 2.1, DisplayPort 1.4a, multiple USB-A and USB-C ports, Ethernet — also matches confirmed specs on existing Dell Pro Micro hardware.
Dell's Pro Micro chassis: 1.2 litres, VESA-mountable, and genuinely compact — but the 'E' variant remains unverified.
What doesn't check out is the processor. AMD has no "Ryzen 5 150" in its 2025–2026 roadmap. The designation doesn't correspond to any known Ryzen series — not the 5000, 7000, or AI-branded lines. It may be a mistranslation, a data error, or simply fabricated. Dell's actual 2026 Pro Micro range uses Intel Core Ultra processors and starts at £1,426 in the UK and $1,409 in the US — both well above the claimed $630 price point.
Dell's confirmed 2026 Pro Micro line uses Intel Core Ultra processors, not AMD, and starts well above $630.
What's actually out there
If you're shopping for a capable mini PC in the $200–$600 range with genuine AMD Ryzen silicon, brands like Beelink and Geekom cover that segment with verified hardware. Dell doesn't compete at that price tier under any current product line. When it does aim at budget-conscious business buyers, it uses sub-brands like Inspiron or Vostro, not the Pro Micro label, which is positioned as an enterprise managed desktop.
No Dell press release, retailer listing, or independent tech review corroborates the Pro Micro E's existence in any market — China included. Until Dell confirms it officially, treat this one with caution.
