Samsung Galaxy Book 6 Edge launches with Snapdragon X2 Elite at $2,100

Samsung has launched the Galaxy Book 6 Edge, a 16-inch Windows laptop powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon X2 Elite chip. It's priced at $2,099.99 and is available exclusively through Samsung.com in the US. UK pricing has not been confirmed by Samsung UK yet, though comparable models suggest a bracket around £1,699–£1,799.

The hardware

The Book 6 Edge breaks from the rest of the Galaxy Book 6 lineup, which runs on Intel processors. The Snapdragon X2 Elite brings an 80-TOPS NPU (neural processing unit, the dedicated AI engine), outpacing Intel's upcoming Panther Lake at 50 TOPS on paper. Whether that translates to a meaningful difference in everyday Windows Copilot+ tasks — like live captions, image generation, or real-time translation — remains to be seen.

The 16-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display runs at 3K resolution with a 120 Hz adaptive refresh rate and an anti-reflective coating, protected by Corning Gorilla Glass with DX. Four Dolby Atmos speakers, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, HDMI 2.1, two USB 4.0 ports, one USB 3.2, and a microSD slot round out the specs. Samsung rates the battery at up to 22 hours of video playback, and the included 65W charger hits 40% in 30 minutes. The laptop weighs 1.55 kg at under 13 mm thick, and ships in a single config: 16 GB LPDDR5X RAM with a 1 TB SSD.

The competition problem

At $2,100, Samsung is pitching this closer to MacBook Pro territory than MacBook Air — a bold move for a Windows ARM laptop. The ecosystem extras (Multi-Control, Second Screen with Galaxy phones and tablets) add genuine value if you're already in Samsung's Android world, but mean little if you're not.

The sharper challenge comes from within the Snapdragon X2 Elite family itself. HP's OmniBook Ultra 14 carries the same chip at a significantly lower price point, per Windows Central. Samsung is betting the larger AMOLED display and premium build justify the gap — that's a harder sell when the underlying silicon is identical.
