12 PS Plus Extra Games Leave July 21 — Grab Risk of Rain 2 Before It's Gone

Sony is pulling 12 games from PS Plus Extra on July 21, 2026, with the highly regarded roguelike shooter Risk of Rain 2 and city-builder Tropico 6 headlining the exits. Both titles joined the catalog in July 2025, hitting the 12-month ceiling that governs most third-party PS Plus deals. If you haven't downloaded them yet, you have until July 20.

The licensing ceiling

PS Plus Extra runs on fixed-term licensing agreements — third-party games are typically available for 6 to 12 months, per Tech Times. Once that window closes, access is revoked even if you previously downloaded the title. Sony flags expiring games in the "Last Chance to Play" section of the PS5 app, but doesn't publish a forward-looking removal schedule. That puts the burden on subscribers to catch titles before the clock runs out.

Risk of Rain 2 is the sharpest loss this cycle. The third-person roguelike carries an 85/100 user rating and can easily absorb 20 to 150 hours of playtime — that's strong value while it's included. Push Square calls it a "highly regarded roguelike shooter," and its removal is a good argument for buying it outright if you're mid-run.

What's leaving

The full list of departing titles on July 21:

- Risk of Rain 2 (PS4, PS5) - Tropico 6 (PS4, PS5) - Clash: Artifacts of Chaos (PS4, PS5) - Röki (PS4, PS5) - Source of Madness (PS4, PS5) - Cursed to Golf (PS4, PS5) - Hundred Days: Winemaking Simulator (PS4, PS5) - Onee Chanbara Origin (PS4) - Get Even (PS4) - Bomber Crew (PS4) - Space Crew: Legendary Edition (PS4) - Infinite Minigolf (PS4)

The value question

PS Plus Extra prices rose in May 2026 across the US and UK, tightening the math on what subscribers actually get. A catalog that rotates popular titles out on fixed schedules — with no guarantee they return — makes the service feel closer to a rental library than a collection. If Risk of Rain 2 or Tropico 6 are games you'd revisit regularly, buying them outright before or after July 21 is worth considering. Neither has confirmed sale pricing tied to the removal, but keep an eye on the PlayStation Store around the departure date.
