Call of Duty: Vanguard and EA Sports FC 26 hit Xbox Game Pass this week

Xbox Game Pass is getting two of its biggest June additions this week — Call of Duty: Vanguard on June 17 and EA Sports FC 26 on June 18 — and if you're a sports or shooter fan, both are worth knowing about before they land. The timing isn't accidental: FC 26 arrives as the FIFA World Cup 2026 kicks off, and Microsoft is bundling a Supercharge Pack with the game through July 17 as a limited-time bonus.

The back-catalog angle

Neither game is a new release. Vanguard, the World War II-set Call of Duty entry from Activision, came out in 2021. Its arrival on Game Pass signals where Microsoft's subscription strategy currently sits: rather than putting new Call of Duty titles in the service on day one, the company is working through the Activision back catalog following its 2023 acquisition. That's a slower pipeline than some subscribers expected, though Vanguard is still a full, polished entry in the franchise.

EA Sports FC 26 is the more interesting addition from a timing standpoint. The game launches in the service just as global attention turns to football — and the Supercharge Pack gives Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass subscribers bonus in-game content on top of access. Note that FC 26 is not available on Game Pass Premium; you'll need Ultimate or PC Game Pass to play it.

Tiers and what's leaving

Call of Duty: Vanguard is available on Cloud, Console, and PC for Game Pass Premium, Ultimate, and PC Game Pass subscribers starting June 17. EA Sports FC 26 follows on June 18, but only on Ultimate and PC Game Pass.

Eight titles exit the library on June 30, so download them soon if you haven't finished them:

- Mecha Break - Payday 2 - Rise of the Tomb Raider - Tomb Raider (2013) - Slay the Spire - Ultimate Chicken Horse - Volcano Princess - Unpacking

Losing both Tomb Raider entries at once is the most notable departure for action-adventure fans. The full wave 2 lineup — including Abyssus (June 25), RV There Yet? (June 30), Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4 (July 2, moving to Game Pass Premium), and Winds of Arcana: Ruination (July 6) — is detailed on Xbox Wire.
