Sennheiser ACCENTUM Clip: open-ear earbuds with LDAC and 36-hour battery land in the UK at £149

Sennheiser has launched the ACCENTUM Clip, a pair of open-ear wireless earbuds that clip to the outer ear rather than sitting in the ear canal. They go on sale July 23 at £149 in the UK and €179 across Europe — and, notably, won't be available in the US at all, a decision SoundGuys links to the current uncertainty around US tariff and import policy.

The clip-on pitch

Each earbud weighs just 6.8g and leaves the ear canal completely open, so ambient sound passes through naturally. That's the core appeal: you can hear traffic, colleagues, or a barista without pulling an earbud out. The format has picked up serious momentum lately, with Bose, Nothing, and Soundcore all releasing competing designs.

Sennheiser's differentiator is audio credentials. The ACCENTUM Clip uses 12mm dynamic drivers and supports LDAC — the high-resolution codec that streams audio at up to 990 kbps, well above standard Bluetooth quality. Bluetooth 6.0 handles the connection, Google Fast Pair is on board for quick Android pairing, and a five-band equaliser is available through the Smart Control Plus app. The earbuds carry an IP54 rating, covering dust and sweat resistance for workouts or commutes.

Battery life is rated at 9 hours per charge, with the charging case extending that to 36 hours total. A 10-minute top-up delivers around 2 hours of playback. Two colours are available: black and a cream white.

Available in black and cream white from July 23, 2026.

A crowded corner

At £149, the ACCENTUM Clip sits alongside some stiff competition. The Nothing Ear Open matches the IP54 rating and offers 30 hours of total battery life. The Soundcore AeroClip hits the same £149 price point, adds IP55 water resistance, and claims 32 hours total. Neither supports LDAC, which gives Sennheiser a clear edge for Android users streaming hi-res audio from services like Tidal or Amazon Music Unlimited.

The UK launch goes live on July 23 via What Hi-Fi and Sennheiser's own site. US buyers are out of luck for now — Canada gets the earbuds the same day at CAD $269.95, but there's no US equivalent on the horizon.
