Motorola Edge 70 Fusion gets a 512GB option — but only in India

Motorola has quietly added a 512GB storage tier to its Edge 70 Fusion in India, priced at roughly $390 — a move that highlights just how differently the company treats different markets. In the UK, the phone launched earlier this year with a single 8GB/256GB config at £379.99 (currently discounted to £329.99 with a Moto Buds Loop bundle), per T3. The 512GB variant is India-exclusive for now, with no confirmed timeline for a wider rollout.

The phone itself

The Edge 70 Fusion is a solid mid-range device regardless of storage tier. It runs on a Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 chip — not the fastest around, but capable enough for smooth everyday use. The 6.78-inch AMOLED display runs at 144Hz with a 1.5K resolution and peaks at 5,200 nits of brightness, with HDR10+ support. The main camera is a 50MP Sony LYT-710 sensor with optical image stabilisation (OIS), capable of 4K video — as is the 32MP front camera. The phone ships in a range of Pantone colours: Sporting Green, Silhouette Black, Blue Surf, Orient Blue, and Country Air.

One spec difference worth flagging: the Indian version packs a 7,000mAh battery, significantly larger than the 5,200mAh cell in European models. That's a considerable gap for buyers who care about battery life.

What UK buyers actually get

The UK sits in an awkward spot. As TechRadar notes, the phone isn't sold in the US at all — Motorola handles that market separately. In the UK, you get one configuration: 8GB of RAM, 256GB of storage, the smaller 5,200mAh battery, and a £379.99 price tag. Rivals like the Google Pixel 10a and Samsung Galaxy A37 offer more storage flexibility at comparable prices, which makes Motorola's single-config approach feel limiting.

Storage fragmentation

The 512GB India launch, confirmed by GSMArena, is part of a broader pattern where Motorola tailors specs heavily by region — swapping battery sizes, storage tiers, and even RAM configurations depending on the market. For UK buyers already on the fence, the absence of a higher-storage option or a larger battery makes the Edge 70 Fusion harder to recommend at full price. At £329.99 with the current discount, it's a more compelling proposition — but only if 256GB is enough for your needs.
