Information has appeared on the network more than once that Qualcomm is working on its next flagship chip. It was supposed to be called the Snapdragon 895, but it doesn't seem to be the case.

What we know

According to the Chinese insider Ice Universe, the novelty may enter the market with the name Snapdragon 898. The SoC will be built using Samsung's 4-nanometer process technology. It is expected with a new core layout: 1 + 3 + 2 + 2 instead of 1 + 3 + 4. If you believe the rumors, we are talking about one Cortex-X2 core, three Cortex-A710, two Cortex-A510 and two Cortex-A510 (with reduced frequency). By the way, according to the source, the productive Cortex-X2 core will operate at a maximum frequency of 3.09 GHz. Another Snapdragon 898 will be able to boast a new graphics accelerator Adreno 730, as well as a proprietary 5G modem Snapdragon X65.

When to expect

There is no official date for the announcement of Qualcomm Snapdragon 898 yet. Most likely, the chip will be presented at the annual Qualcomm Tech Summi in December.
