GTA VI is set to launch November 19, 2026, on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S — and an Amazon Brazil product listing has just given away more details than Rockstar likely intended. The page described the game's open world, dual protagonists, AI-driven NPCs, and graphics ambitions in unusually specific terms. Pre-orders went live on June 25, with the Standard Edition priced at $79.99 / £69.99 and the Ultimate Edition at $99.99 / £89.99, per T3 (UK).

The world and the story

The listing confirmed that GTA VI's map — the state of Leonida, a Florida-inspired setting — will be the largest open world Rockstar has ever built. Vice City returns as its beating heart, surrounded by beaches, suburbs, swamps, and smaller towns. Every location is described as designed for what the page calls "unparalleled immersion."

The game's two protagonists are Jason and Lucia. Lucia is the first playable female lead in the modern GTA series — a genuine first for a franchise that launched in 1997. Players switch between the two in real time during missions, with each character carrying unique abilities that affect both story pacing and tactical options. The dynamic is framed as a Bonnie-and-Clyde-style partnership, pushing the multi-character system from GTA V into more personal territory.

The living world — and the performance question

NPCs in Leonida follow AI-managed daily schedules, making the world feel less scripted than previous entries. Social media is woven directly into gameplay: your character's in-game smartphone streams viral videos in real time, and you can track Vice City influencers or uncover side missions through in-world social networks.

On graphics, the Amazon listing highlighted advanced ray tracing, global illumination, and dynamic weather — with specific optimizations called out for PS5 Pro. That last point matters. GAMES.GG has noted that Digital Foundry analysts are skeptical the PS5 Pro can hit 60 FPS given the NPC density and ray-traced lighting load. Base PS5 and Xbox Series X are widely expected to run at 30 FPS. Rockstar has not officially confirmed any frame-rate modes.

Buying it

Physical copies ship a week early — November 12 — but they contain a download code, not a disc. Pre-orders are live now at major UK and US retailers. At $79.99, GTA VI sets a new standard price for AAA games on current-gen consoles, a signal that the broader industry is watching closely.
