Sony has added three games to PlayStation Plus starting today, July 7, and they're available to claim on all tiers — Essential, Extra, and Premium — through August 3. The headliner is Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III Cross-Gen Bundle, joined by tactical RPG For the King II and retro pixel RPG CrossCode, both for PS4 and PS5.

The headliner — with baggage

Modern Warfare III arrives with a complicated reputation. Its campaign scored as low as 5/10 in reviews, with GamingBible calling it one of the worst entries in the franchise. That said, the package includes remastered multiplayer maps from the beloved 2009 original — a genuine draw for long-time fans — and a new open-world Zombies mode that, for the first time, lets multiple squads team up in a large-scale PvE environment, according to the PlayStation Blog. If you skipped the $70 retail price at launch, the multiplayer and Zombies alone make it worth a download.

For the King II is a four-player co-op tactical RPG set in a dark fantasy world, built around turn-based strategy with roguelike elements. CrossCode is a polished 2D pixel RPG with real-time combat and a reputation for punching well above its size. Both hold up well against the AAA headliner and are worth your time even if you pass on the shooter.

What's leaving — and what it costs

Twelve games exit the Extra and Premium catalog on July 21. The notable departures include Risk of Rain 2, Tropico 6, and Clash: Artifacts of Chaos, alongside Röki, Source of Madness, Cursed to Golf, Hundred Days: Winemaking Simulator, Onee Chanbara Origin, Get Even, Bomber Crew, Space Crew: Legendary Edition, and Infinite Minigolf. If any of those are in your backlog, you have until July 20 to finish them.

The rotation lands one month after Sony raised PS Plus prices. Essential moved from $9.99 to $10.99 per month in May 2026; Extra and Premium each went up by $2 per month. Annual plan pricing held steady. With Game Pass Standard sitting at $14.99 per month, Sony's catalog choices are under more scrutiny than usual — and a mixed COD entry doesn't make the value argument any easier.

How to claim

Log into your PS4 or PS5, head to the PlayStation Store, and add all three games to your library before August 3. Once claimed, they stay in your library as long as your subscription is active.
