Samsung Galaxy Unpacked is set for July 22 in London — three foldables and smart glasses expected

Samsung has confirmed Galaxy Unpacked for July 22 in London, marking the first time the event takes place outside Korea or the United States. The show starts at 2 p.m. BST and streams live on Samsung's website, Newsroom, and YouTube. Based on Notebookcheck UK pricing leaks and supply-chain reports, three new foldables are expected — along with a Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 and a first look at Samsung's smart glasses.

Three foldables, one confusing name

The naming is worth untangling before the event. The Galaxy Z Fold 8 is reportedly a new wider 4:3 format model — not the direct successor to last year's Z Fold 7. That successor is the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, a taller traditional book-style phone with a 5,000mAh battery and 45W charging. The Z Fold 8 Wide will have limited availability at launch, so most buyers will be choosing between the Ultra and the standard Fold 8.

UK pricing leaks put the Z Fold 8 at £1,699 (256GB), the Z Fold 8 Ultra at £1,899, and the Galaxy Z Flip 8 — which gets a lighter build around 180g and a reduced-crease hinge — at £1,049. That's a jump of £100 or more year-on-year, which Notebookcheck attributes to memory chip shortages rather than any major new feature set. US buyers will get Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5; UK and European models are expected to ship with Samsung's own Exynos 2600.

Galaxy Glasses — and why the price matters

The London event is also expected to tease Galaxy Glasses, running Android XR with Google's Gemini AI. A full launch is penciled in for Fall 2026 at a rumored €379–€499 (roughly $400–$530). That puts them well above Meta's Ray-Ban smart glasses, which start at $299 — though the Galaxy Glasses are expected to integrate Google Maps and Gemini's multilingual assistant more deeply into the Android ecosystem, per TechTimes.

The Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 is also on the list, with an 800mAh battery — up 33% from the original's 590mAh.

Two months before Apple

Holding Unpacked in July gives Samsung roughly a two-month runway before Apple's expected September announcements. Pre-orders for the foldables are expected to open on July 22, with early-order trade-in deals likely on Samsung.com and at major UK retailers. All specs and pricing are still leak-based; Samsung has not officially confirmed product names or final figures ahead of the event.
