Moto G77 Power packs a 7,000 mAh battery — but only India gets it for now

Motorola has officially announced the Moto G77 Power, a mid-range phone built around a 7,000 mAh battery — 1,800 mAh more than the standard G77 — launching in India on July 8, per GSMArena. No UK or US availability has been announced. If you're already eyeing the standard Moto G77, which costs £249.99 at Currys and Amazon, the Power edition remains off the table for now.

The battery case

A 7,000 mAh cell is a serious number — enough to promise two to three days of moderate use between charges. The catch is the 30W TurboPower charging, which is slow for a battery this size. Competitors in the same price bracket — OnePlus Nord CE 6 (100W), Xiaomi's Redmi line (67W and up) — top up far faster. At 30W, filling the G77 Power from flat overnight is the realistic plan. There is a 6W reverse wired charging option, so you can trickle-charge earbuds or small accessories from the phone itself.

The specs

The phone runs a 6.72-inch Full HD+ display at 120Hz, with a peak brightness of 1,050 nits and Corning Gorilla Glass 7i protection. Motorola markets a "Water Touch" feature that claims the touchscreen stays responsive with wet fingers or in rain — an interesting claim that hasn't yet been tested in independent reviews.

Inside sits a MediaTek Dimensity 6400 paired with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. Motorola pushes a "RAM Boost" feature that extends virtual RAM to 24GB by borrowing from storage, though real-world performance gains from this are typically modest. The IP64 rating covers dust and water splashes — the same protection level as the standard G77 — but it won't survive a dunk.

Camera and software

The main camera uses a 50MP Sony Lytia-600 sensor alongside an 8MP ultrawide. The front camera is 32MP. The phone ships with Android 16, but software support is limited to one major OS update and three years of security patches — a notable gap compared to the Samsung Galaxy A55, which gets four years of major updates.

Worth waiting for?

At roughly $250 at launch, the G77 Power makes a straightforward pitch: maximum battery, mid-range price. The 30W charging ceiling and limited software support are its two clearest weaknesses. If you're in the UK, Tech Advisor confirms no availability date has been set, so the standard G77 remains the only Motorola option on shelves for now.
