XGIMI's new Elfin Flip projectors bring 4K laser and gaming specs for under $1,000
XGIMI launched two new compact projectors on July 15, 2026 — the Elfin Flip Laser at $799 and the Elfin Flip 4K at $999. Both run Google TV, pack a 7W Harman Kardon speaker, and use RGB Triple Laser at 1,600 ISO lumens. If you've been watching the semi-portable projector market and waiting for 4K laser at under $1,000, this is that moment — though there are real caveats.
The specs
Both models share the same RGB Triple Laser engine, which XGIMI says delivers four times the brightness of the outgoing Elfin Flip Plus (rated at 400 lumens). That 1,600 ISO lumen output is a meaningful step up for a projector this size. Each unit also handles automatic image correction — autofocus, keystone adjustment, screen alignment, and obstacle avoidance — via XGIMI's ISA system.
The base Elfin Flip Laser tops out at 1080p with 10,000:1 dynamic contrast. It's aimed squarely at streamers and movie nights.

The Elfin Flip 4K steps up to full 4K resolution and bumps dynamic contrast to 20,000:1. It also adds a 0.98–1.3:1 optical zoom, VRR and ALLM support, and a claimed 1ms input lag at 1080p/120Hz — specs that put it in gaming projector territory alongside BenQ and ViewSonic alternatives, neither of which offer laser at this price point, per XGIMI's announcement.

The catch
Neither projector has a built-in battery. Both require mains power — wall outlet or USB-C cable. That directly undercuts the "grab-and-go" framing XGIMI leans on heavily in its marketing. These are flexible room-to-room projectors, not truly portable ones. Don't plan on taking either to a campsite.
Stuff.tv's Flip 4K review also flags the competition: LG, Leica, and Dangbei's DBOX02 Pro all occupy the same semi-portable space, with LG and Leica commanding premium prices and Dangbei undercutting on cost.
Availability
The Elfin Flip Laser and Elfin Flip 4K went on sale July 15 via XGIMI.com. UK pricing lands at £689 and £869 respectively, with Amazon UK stocking both from July 22. The Elfin Flip 4K has already sold out its initial inventory — XGIMI has acknowledged pre-orders came in faster than expected, with late-July shipping for new orders.
