Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 leaks with 5000-nit display and a much bigger battery
Samsung's Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 is shaping up to be a significant step up — and a more expensive one. Official promotional renders leaked by insider Evan Blass, confirmed by SamMobile, reveal a 5000-nit peak brightness display, a 35% larger battery, and the first Snapdragon chip in a Samsung smartwatch. The watch is set to debut at Galaxy Unpacked in London on July 22, with sales starting August 5–6.
The specs
The display jumps from 3000 nits to 5000 nits — a meaningful gain for outdoor readability in direct sunlight. The battery grows from 590mAh to 800mAh, which should translate to noticeably longer usage between charges. The chassis gets 12% thinner despite the larger cell, while keeping Grade 4 titanium construction and sapphire glass.

The water resistance rating upgrades from IP68 to IP69K. That's not just deeper submersion — IP69K specifically covers high-pressure, high-temperature water jets, making the watch more resilient in demanding conditions. It also retains 10 ATM water resistance for swimming and diving.
The signature orange Quick Button stays. The design language — the squared-off, cushion-shaped case — remains recognizable from the original Ultra.
The titanium chassis is 12% thinner than its predecessor while retaining the signature orange Quick Button.
The bigger internal shift is the chip. Samsung is swapping its in-house Exynos processor for the Snapdragon Wear Elite, a 3nm chip with a dedicated AI processor. This is the first time Samsung has moved its entire wearable lineup away from its own silicon — a move that mirrors Qualcomm's push into on-wrist AI announced at MWC 2026. Expect faster health tracking, improved sleep analysis, and tighter Galaxy AI integration running on Wear OS with One UI Watch.

Price and availability
Samsung will announce the watch at Galaxy Unpacked on July 22. Pre-orders open the same day. European pricing is confirmed at €749 — a €50 increase over the original Ultra, per Smartwatch Insight. US pricing is not officially confirmed but is expected to land around $649–$699 based on historical pricing patterns. UK pricing is similarly estimated at around £650. Only a 4G/LTE version is expected in Europe; 5G is limited to the US and South Korea.
