Garmin CIRQA Smart Band: No screen, no subscription, 10-day battery
Garmin officially announced the CIRQA Smart Band on July 21, 2026, with sales opening July 24. Priced at $199.99 in the US and £179 in the UK, it's a screenless health tracker that goes up directly against Whoop — but without the mandatory recurring subscription that defines that rival. It's available now on Garmin.com and major retailers.
The device
CIRQA is a fabric-strap band with no display, no GPS chip, and no push notifications. That's a deliberate design choice: Garmin is aiming at people who want continuous health data without constant interruptions. The strap comes in four colours — Black, Captain Blue, French Grey, and Mauve — and the whole thing charges via USB-C.
Health sensors cover continuous heart rate, heart rate variability (HRV), blood oxygen (SpO2), skin temperature, stress, and Garmin's Body Battery score. Sleep tracking records stages, naps, and produces a Sleep Score. Female health tracking is also included. For workouts, CIRQA supports over 80 activity profiles with automatic start detection, and it can borrow GPS from a paired iPhone or Android phone to map routes.

All data syncs to the Garmin Connect app over Bluetooth. Core health and training metrics are free — no subscription needed. An optional Connect+ tier ($6.99/month or $69.99/year) unlocks extras like guided workouts, Garmin Coach plans, alcohol and nicotine logging, jet-lag reduction tips, and a meditation assistant.
How it stacks up
At $199.99, CIRQA sits between Fitbit Air ($99) and Whoop 5.0 (which runs $239–$359 per year on subscription, hardware included). Fitbit Air is simpler and cheaper; Whoop offers deeper recovery analytics but locks everything behind a paywall. CIRQA's pitch is Garmin's depth of health data with a one-time purchase and no forced subscription — a meaningful distinction for anyone burned by subscription creep.
The lack of onboard GPS and smart notifications will rule it out for some. But for Garmin ecosystem users who already own an Edge cycling computer or a Forerunner watch, CIRQA fits neatly as a 24/7 background monitor — something light enough to sleep in and forget about.
