Nokia 123 Shield: Durable Budget Phone with Impressive Battery Life and Water Resistance for Just €35

HMD has expanded its range with a new button-operated phone, the Nokia 123 Shield. The manufacturer positions the novelty as the brand's most affordable device with water and dust protection, designed for work in harsh conditions or as a reliable backup option.

The design of the novelty is as practical as possible: the side edges are made of textured plastic for a secure grip, and the ports on the bottom edge are covered with a rubber plug that prevents water, sand, and dirt from entering. Under it, there are a modern USB-C port and a classic 3.5 mm headphone jack. The model weighs 108 grams and is available in two colors: green and purple.

From a technical point of view, the phone offers a basic set of features. It is equipped with a 2.4” screen with QVGA resolution, an Unisoc SC6531E processor, and runs on the S30+ operating system. The RAM and internal memory are both 4 MB, but storage can be expanded with MicroSD cards up to 32 GB. On the back, there is a modest QVGA camera with an LED flash.

The main advantage of the device is its autonomy. A removable 1750 mAh battery provides up to 27.9 hours of talk time and up to 19 days of standby time. Additional features include a built-in bright flashlight (according to HMD, it shines better than on the Nokia 110 model) and an FM radio that can work without connecting a wired headset.

The device is designed for 2G networks (GSM 900 and 1800 bands) and supports the installation of two Mini SIM format cards. The official global price has not yet been announced, but in European stores (specifically in Greece and Bulgaria), the Nokia 123 Shield is already being sold for prices ranging from €35 to €40.
