Assassin's Creed Hexe screenshots leak showing the protagonist — and Ubisoft is not happy

Assassin's Creed Hexe is shaping up to be one of the most intriguing entries in the franchise, and a fresh leak has given us our clearest look yet at the game. Insider RogueTX posted two in-game screenshots on X before their account was promptly blocked — a move that many are reading as Ubisoft's legal team stepping in fast.

One of the images apparently shows protagonist Anika from behind, moving through what looks like a dense forest environment. The second screenshot features a large, blurred figure whose identity is impossible to determine. A Screen Rant report on the wider leak confirms RogueTX had already shared pricing and edition details before the account went dark.

The hunted, not the hunter

Hexe flips the classic Assassin's Creed formula. Instead of playing an all-powerful assassin picking off targets, you play as Anika — a young woman accused of witchcraft during the 16th-century Würzburg Witch Trials in the Holy Roman Empire, in what is now Germany. The game is described as the darkest AC entry yet, swapping open-world RPG sprawl for a linear structure with forests, villages, and real historical locations including Würzburg and Nuremberg.

Anika is rumored to be a descendant of Claudia Auditore, sister of Ezio from Assassin's Creed 2. Ezio himself may appear in the game — reportedly as a ghost or vision acting as a mentor figure. Per PlayStation Universe, the game brings back and expands the fear mechanic first seen in the Jack the Ripper DLC for Syndicate: NPCs can panic, weapons misfire, and entire zones can be abandoned as dread spreads through the population.

Pricing and platforms

The leak places Hexe's target release in June 2027 on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S, though RogueTX noted the date could slip to fall 2027 if development runs long. Three editions are reportedly planned: Standard at $69.99, Deluxe at $89.99, and a Collector's edition at $119.99, all carrying a PEGI 18 rating. European pricing has not been officially confirmed. Ubisoft has not commented on any of these details — or on the account that was blocked shortly after posting them.
