Oppo K15 packs a built-in cooling fan and an 8,000 mAh battery for $340
Oppo launched the K15 in China on July 24, priced at 2,299 yuan (around $340), and the spec sheet reads less like a mid-range phone and more like a piece of field equipment. It ships with a built-in active cooling fan, an 8,000 mAh battery, and IP69 water and pressure resistance — a combination that's almost nonexistent at this price point. There's no confirmed US or UK release date yet, so consider this a preview of what may eventually arrive outside China.
The hardware
The K15 runs on a MediaTek Dimensity 7360 Super chip paired with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage — no lower-spec variants. The 6.59-inch AMOLED display hits 1.5K resolution, a 120 Hz refresh rate, and 1,200 nits peak brightness, which is enough for outdoor use in direct sunlight. Android 16 runs out of the box, and there's an in-display fingerprint reader.
Camera hardware includes two 50 MP sensors on the back and a 50 MP front camera. Connectivity covers 5G, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, and an infrared port for controlling home appliances.
The fan — not a gimmick
Active cooling fans are almost exclusively found in gaming flagships like the ROG Phone series, typically costing twice as much. Oppo has fitted a fan and vapour-chamber heat dissipation into a $340 phone, with the stated goal of sustaining peak CPU performance under load without throttling. The K15 isn't pitched as a gaming device — Oppo frames the cooling as a durability and reliability feature for people who push their phones hard at work or outdoors, per NokiaMob launch coverage.
Battery and protection
The 8,000 mAh cell supports 80W wired fast charging, so filling it from flat still takes a reasonable amount of time despite the size. Oppo claims two to three days of normal use per charge, as confirmed by FoneArena K15 launch spec verification. IP69 goes further than the IP68 standard common on flagship phones — it means the device can withstand high-pressure, high-temperature water jets, which matters if you work in construction, agriculture, or just spend a lot of time outdoors.

Availability
The K15 Pro — a step-up model with the Dimensity 8500 chip — launched in Europe in April 2026 at around €552 in Germany. The base K15 has no announced pricing or availability for the US, UK, or broader European markets as of this writing. If Oppo follows its usual pattern, a global rollout could come within a few months, but nothing is confirmed.
