Oppo's new A7 Pro Max packs a record 10,000mAh battery into an 8.47mm body
Oppo has officially begun teasing the A7 Pro Max, a budget 5G phone built around the largest battery the company has ever shipped: 10,000mAh. The phone measures just 8.47mm thick and weighs 226g — impressively trim for a cell of that capacity. It launches in China first, and there is currently no word on a UK or US release.
The hardware
The A7 Pro Max pairs that battery with 80W wired fast charging, so topping up from empty shouldn't take all day. The display is a flat 6.78-inch OLED panel running at 1.5K resolution and 120Hz — a solid spec for a budget device. Under the hood sits Qualcomm's Snapdragon 4 Gen 5, a 4nm chip with 5G support that Qualcomm introduced earlier this year for the entry-level tier.
On the camera side, Oppo has confirmed a slightly raised rectangular camera block on the back. The setup includes a 50MP main sensor and a 2MP secondary module — likely a macro or depth lens — plus a 50MP front camera. Fingerprint unlocking is handled by an under-display sensor.

No official launch date has been set, but the start of Oppo's ad campaign suggests an announcement within days.
What this means outside China
If you're in the US or UK, the A7 Pro Max almost certainly won't land on shelves near you anytime soon. Per Gadget by Nepal, the launch is China-exclusive, with no decision made on international availability. Oppo's Western retail footprint skews heavily premium — the Find X series starts above £810 in the UK — leaving the budget segment to OnePlus and Nothing.
There's also a regulatory wrinkle. EU and UK battery rules effectively require dual-cell designs above certain capacities; China's single-cell 10,000mAh packs don't meet that standard. Xiaomi already redesigned its Redmi 10K models for European compliance. Oppo would likely face the same hurdle.
The more immediate option for buyers who want marathon battery life is the Realme P4 Power, already on sale globally with a 10,001mAh silicon-carbon battery at a competitive price. Accio Research notes that 2026 is shaping up as the year 10,000mAh moves from niche to mainstream, with Realme, Xiaomi, and Honor all competing in the segment. Oppo's record-setter may lead the spec race internally, but it's the rivals already available in the West that budget shoppers can actually buy.
