Apple unveils new design for its online store
On Tuesday, the Apple Store mysteriously did not work for about an hour, which caused a wave of "nerves" on the topic of new product launches. But after that it got a completely new look and a special tab in Apple's navigation at the top level.
The top of the store now contains images and links to many of Apple's product lines (Mac, iPhone, AirPods, etc.). Some of these links lead to new Store pages dedicated to those products, which show available models and provide links to resources such as buying guides, accessories, and support.
The Store homepage also has news sections, links to support pages, and more.
The new design is made in the form of cards and is somewhat reminiscent of the Apple Store app for iOS. It feels like it is aimed at mobile devices, with smooth horizontal scrolling between cards on the phone. You don't get this effect in full on the desktop, where arrows appear, so you scroll horizontally and click on them.
As far as we can tell, this is the only change in the store. There are no new products in it, and the purchase page itself remains the same.
