Motorola's Moto Pad 70 Groove Has Nine JBL Speakers — But Don't Expect It Outside India Yet
Motorola has launched the Moto Pad 70 Groove in India, a 12.1-inch tablet built around a nine-speaker JBL audio system — and priced at roughly $360 at current exchange rates. There's no US or UK availability date announced, and GSMArena reports the device is a rebadged Lenovo Tab Plus Gen 2, which itself never made it to Western markets.
The hardware
The screen is a 12.1-inch LCD at 2.5K resolution with a 120Hz refresh rate, 800 nits peak brightness, Dolby Vision, and HDR10. That's a competitive panel for the price. The JBL Pro audio setup is the headline feature: four tweeters, three woofers, and two passive radiators running at 48W stereo output with Dolby Atmos. Motorola also lets the tablet act as a standalone Bluetooth speaker — a party trick that makes more sense on a 775-gram slab than you'd think.
Inside sits a MediaTek Dimensity 7400 paired with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, expandable via microSD up to 2TB. Performance sits comfortably in the mid-range — good for streaming and casual productivity, weaker for demanding games. Think Galaxy Tab S9 FE territory, not iPad Air.

The 10,200mAh battery supports 45W TurboPower charging. Motorola claims 15 hours of YouTube playback on a full charge, and 10 minutes of charging delivering up to two hours of use. It ships with Android 16 and is promised two major OS updates — through Android 18 — plus four years of security patches.
The local angle
The tablet is sold exclusively in India, via Flipkart and Motorola's own site, from August 7 in a single Pantone Blue Surf colorway. Gizmochina confirms the Indian price at ₹36,999 (around ₹33,999 with bank discounts). No official word on pricing or availability for the US, UK, or Europe has been issued.

Given that the underlying Lenovo Tab Plus Gen 2 never launched in the West, a global rollout isn't guaranteed. If Motorola does bring it here, expect a UK price somewhere north of £350, putting it up against Samsung's Galaxy Tab S9 FE — a device that already owns this segment on Amazon and in Currys. The AI-powered Live Transcript feature, which handles real-time spoken translation across 40 languages, is a useful differentiator, but it won't matter until the tablet actually ships outside India.
