Pixel Watch 5: full specs, price hike, and colors confirmed ahead of August launch

Google's Pixel Watch 5 is getting its first price increase in four generations: the 41mm Wi-Fi model jumps to $399, up $50 from the Watch 4's $349 starting price. The top-end 45mm LTE configuration reaches $529. Leaked specs from French insider billbil-kun, published via Dealabs, confirm the full picture ahead of Google's August 12 Made by Google event in New York City.

Same chip, more memory

The Watch 5 keeps the Snapdragon W5 Gen 2 processor — no Tensor upgrade, despite earlier rumors. What does change: storage doubles from 32GB to 64GB, and RAM climbs to 3GB (up from 2GB), which Google needs to run Gemini Intelligence on the device. Battery capacity grows slightly to 332mAh (41mm) and 465mAh (45mm), though claimed battery life stays the same as the Watch 4. Wear OS 7 is said to deliver a 10% efficiency improvement. The sport band also gets an upgrade, swapping fluoroelastomer for HNBR rubber — a more durable, skin-friendly material.

The Gemini catch

Gemini Intelligence is the headline software feature on Wear OS 7, promising proactive suggestions based on your context and conversations. The problem: per Android Police, the actual AI features won't be available at launch on August 20 — they're deferred to "later in 2026," with no firm date confirmed. That makes the $50 price increase harder to justify on day one, especially when Apple Watch Series 11 launched at the same $399 but now sits at $299–$329 at most US retailers.

Colors and availability

Four colors are available for the 41mm: Matte Black (Volcanic Black strap), Polished Silver (Smoky strap), Satin Pyrite (Olive strap), and Champagne Gold (Peach-Rose strap). The 45mm drops the Champagne Gold option and comes in the first three colorways only. Satin Pyrite is new to the lineup.

Pre-orders open August 13 via the Google Store, Amazon, and Best Buy. Units ship August 20 — roughly ten weeks earlier than the Watch 4's October 2025 release, putting Google ahead of Apple's rumored September launch for the Apple Watch Series 10 successor. Whether the $399 entry price holds up against Apple's discounted hardware will depend heavily on when those Gemini features actually arrive.
