Huawei Watch GT 7 and GT 7 Pro: 21-day battery and a 3,000-nit screen

Huawei has unveiled the Watch GT 7 and Watch GT 7 Pro, two smartwatches built around a 3,000-nit AMOLED display that stays readable in direct sunlight. The standard GT 7 starts at the equivalent of $235 in China; the Pro, at around $400. A global autumn 2026 release is expected, though Huawei has not confirmed UK or US pricing yet.

The hardware

Both models share the same bright AMOLED panel, Bluetooth 6.0, dual-band GNSS navigation, NFC for contactless payments, and a built-in mic and speaker for wrist-based calls. The standard GT 7 comes in 41mm and 46mm stainless steel cases. The GT 7 Pro is 46mm only, with a titanium case and sapphire glass — and it's the model that adds ECG monitoring and a depth sensor rated to 40 metres for freediving, per Notebookcheck. Both watches carry 5 ATM and IP69 water resistance ratings.

Battery life is where Huawei makes its boldest claim. The 46mm GT 7 and GT 7 Pro last up to 21 days in power-saving mode and 12 days with standard use. Switch on Always-On Display and you still get seven days. Trail runners get 51 hours of continuous GPS tracking. The smaller 41mm GT 7 manages 14 days in power-saving mode and seven days of standard use — figures that no mainstream smartwatch from Apple or Garmin currently matches at this price range.

Pro Ski and health tracking

The headline sports addition is Pro Ski mode, exclusive to the GT 7 Pro. It records descent routes, peak G-force loads, and displays trail maps on the watch face — relevant for anyone heading to the Alps or Scottish Highlands this winter. Beyond skiing, Huawei has updated running, cycling, and golf profiles across both models, and added algorithms for blood glucose risk assessment and respiratory health analysis alongside the usual heart rate, SpO2, and sleep tracking.

What to expect in the UK and US

Huawei has not announced retail partners or confirmed prices outside China. Based on how the GT 6 Pro was priced — it sold for around £200–300 on Amazon UK and roughly €250 on Amazon DE — the GT 7 Pro is likely to land somewhere in the £250–350 range. Chinese Smartwatches confirmed the Pro's Chinese retail price at CNY 2,688 (around $375), though European street prices typically differ from direct conversion.

Huawei's UK and US retail footprint remains thin compared to Garmin, Apple, and Samsung, so availability may be limited to online channels initially. Pre-orders are open in China now, with the GT 7 Pro shipping from August 28. International buyers will need to wait for autumn 2026 for official word.
