Capcom's Platinum list updated: RE2 Remake nears 20M, Requiem hits 8M in four months
Capcom has published its latest Platinum Titles list — games that have cleared one million copies sold — with figures current as of 30 June 2026. The update confirms that Resident Evil Requiem sold 8 million copies in just four months, making it the fastest-selling entry in the entire RE series. For anyone who owns a PS5 or a mid-range gaming PC, Capcom's back-catalog is deeper and more active than ever.
The remake engine
The numbers make one trend impossible to ignore: remakes are carrying the franchise. Resident Evil 2 Remake is approaching 20 million copies (19.7M, up 1.4M since March), and the RE4 Remake has crossed 16 million (+2.4M). RE3 Remake sits at 14.5 million. Together the three remakes outpace most original entries. Catalog sales in Q1 2026 jumped 59% year-on-year to 21.26 million units, per Tech4Gamers Q1 2026 earnings, with PC accounting for over half of software revenue — a sign that these titles travel well on Steam long after launch.
RE Requiem's trajectory is striking on its own: 5 million copies in five days, 6 million by day 17, and Capcom officially confirmed it as the series' fastest-selling game. The halo effect is real — RE2, RE3, and RE7 Gold all sustained PS5 chart positions weeks after Requiem's launch, per Install Base UK Week 13 2026.
Monster Hunter and the rest
Monster Hunter: World leads every Capcom franchise at 22.4 million copies (base game alone; combined with Iceborne the total reaches 39.1 million). Monster Hunter Wilds launched at 11.8 million and is still climbing. The series shows no signs of fatigue.
Devil May Cry 5 is the surprise mover: up 1.1 million to 12.3 million total, driven almost entirely by the Netflix anime series. It's a clean example of how media tie-ins can revive a title years after release.
Street Fighter 6 tells a different story. At 7.2 million (+100K in three months), it is still trailing Street Fighter V's 8 million lifetime total — modest growth in a competitive fighting-game market.
New IP Pragmata debuted at 2.5 million copies, a solid start for a wholly original title from a publisher that increasingly leans on proven franchises.
