Titan Quest II adds Spirit Mastery and a crafting system in update 0.7.0
Titan Quest II just received its biggest update yet, and it's live now for everyone in early access on Steam and the Epic Games Store. Update 0.7.0 adds Spirit Mastery — the game's sixth character branch — along with a crafting system that lets players directly modify the gear they find. Developer Grimlore Games is targeting a full release in late 2026 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
The new mastery
Spirit Mastery draws on the realm of the dead. It gives players 10 active skills and 26 passive abilities built around summoning spirits, manipulating enemies, and life-drain spellcasting. The branch sits somewhere between Path of Exile's minion necromancer and Diablo 4's summoner — you can raise spirits to fight alongside you while still casting offensive spells directly. Like every mastery in Titan Quest II, Spirit can be combined with any of the other five branches, so hybrid builds are wide open.
Crafting, without the slot-machine
The original Titan Quest (2005) only let players create artifacts and socket them into equipment. Titan Quest II goes further: you can now modify the affixes on items you've already found, tailoring stats to your current build rather than waiting for a lucky drop. It requires specific crafting materials and recipes, so there's still a progression layer, but the outcome isn't pure RNG. For players burned out on the loot treadmill in competing ARPGs, that's a notable design choice.
Grimlore also made broader movement speed changes across the board — the full patch notes are up on Steam official patch notes. Gematsu coverage independently confirmed the skill counts and crafting philosophy.
What's next
THQ Nordic has kept to a quarterly content cadence since early access launched in August 2025 — a track record that separates Titan Quest II from early-access titles that go quiet after launch. The full release window is Q4 2026. If you're already in early access, update 0.7.0 is available right now.
