Motorola's Moto Pad 70 bundles a stylus for $360 — but only in India

Motorola has launched the Moto Pad 70, a 12.1-inch Android tablet priced from around $360, with a Moto Pen stylus included in the box. Sales start August 15 in India only, and per Memeburn, there are no confirmed US or UK plans — and no FCC filing has been detected. That puts it out of reach for most Western buyers despite a price tag that undercuts a base iPad by nearly $90.

The specs

The display is a 12.1-inch LCD panel running at 2560 × 1600 (2.5K) with a 90Hz refresh rate, 800 nits peak brightness, and DCI-P3 colour coverage. Notebookcheck confirms the chip is a MediaTek Dimensity 6400 — a 6nm mid-range processor — paired with 8GB of RAM and either 128GB or 256GB of storage. A microSD slot handles cards up to 2TB.

Battery capacity is 10,200mAh with 68W fast charging; the charger is included. The tablet measures 6.29mm thin and weighs 530g. It has 5G, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.4, and IP52 dust and splash resistance. Four speakers with Dolby Atmos round out the hardware.

The stylus angle

The bundled Moto Pen supports 4,096 pressure levels, tilt detection, and palm rejection — features typically reserved for more expensive tablets or sold as a paid add-on. A magnetic keyboard cover with pogo-pin attachment is available separately.

Software is Android 16 at launch, with Motorola promising two major OS updates (through Android 18) and security patches until 2030. A Smart Connect feature lets the tablet mirror its screen and swap files with Windows PCs and Motorola phones.

Availability

The Moto Pad 70 goes on sale August 15 in India in a single Pantone Sea Angel colourway. The 8/128GB variant costs roughly $360; the 8/256GB version is around $390. No European or North American launch has been announced, and the pattern mirrors earlier India-exclusive Motorola tablets — the Moto Pad 70 Pro and Moto Pad 70 Groove followed the same path. Lenovo, Motorola's parent company, has rebranded similar hardware for Western markets before, so a future arrival under either brand remains possible — but there's nothing confirmed yet.
