Fairphone Gen.6+ leak points to €649 price and a RAM bump

Fairphone is reportedly preparing a modest upgrade to its Fairphone 6, and if the leaked price holds, you'll pay a premium for relatively small gains. French insider billbil-kun, posting on Dealabs, claims the Fairphone Gen.6+ will cost €649 at launch in Europe — €50 more than the Fairphone 6 debuted at in June 2025, and €100 more than it costs today. None of this is officially confirmed yet.

The spec sheet

The headline changes are a Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 processor (up from the 7s Gen 3) and 12GB of RAM instead of 8GB. Everything else carries over from the Fairphone 6: a 6.31-inch 120Hz OLED display, a 4415mAh battery, 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage with microSD expansion, and a 50MP main camera with OIS. The phone ships with Android 16 and retains the IP55 rating plus MIL-STD-810H drop resistance.

Worth noting: the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 hasn't been officially announced by Qualcomm, so treat that spec as a rumor for now.

The Gen.6+ will come in black, cobalt blue, and dark green. No new colors, no new form factor.

The modular pitch

Fairphone's core selling point remains intact. Like the Fairphone 6, the Gen.6+ supports 12 user-replaceable components — battery, cameras, display, USB port, speakers, and more — all swappable with a screwdriver and no special tools. That right-to-repair angle is what separates it from anything Apple or Samsung sells, and Fairphone has committed to eight years of software updates through 2033.

In the UK, the Fairphone 6 currently sells for £479 — down £120 from launch. If the Gen.6+ lands at €649 in Europe, UK pricing would likely come in around £580–£600 after VAT, though that figure is unconfirmed.

What's missing

No official announcement date has been set. Billbil-kun has a credible track record on Fairphone leaks, but this remains a single insider claim without corroboration. If Qualcomm's Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 slips or a competing mid-range option arrives first, the timing could shift.

For buyers already in the Fairphone ecosystem, the upgrade logic is straightforward: more RAM, a newer chip, same repairability. For anyone new to the brand, the Fairphone 6 at its current price may be the smarter entry point — assuming stock holds once the Gen.6+ is announced.
