Redmi K100 Pro and Pro Max launch with massive batteries and a 200MP camera
Xiaomi has launched the Redmi K100 Pro and K100 Pro Max in China, and both phones are built around specs that dwarf most flagships in the West. The K100 Pro Max carries a 9,070 mAh battery — nearly double the 5,000 mAh cell inside the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra and almost twice the iPhone 16 Pro Max's 4,685 mAh. If a global release follows Xiaomi's established pattern, these phones will likely arrive as the POCO F9 Ultra within one to two months.

Two chips, one family
The K100 Pro runs on Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 V Series — a variant with one fewer GPU slice than the full chip, confirmed by Notebookcheck. The K100 Pro Max steps up to the standard Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. Both pair LPDDR5X RAM with UFS 4.1 storage. The split mirrors a cost-reduction strategy already used by OnePlus and POCO to keep mid-tier flagship prices competitive.
On the K100 Pro, the display is a flat 6.59-inch OLED running at 185 Hz, with a 2,200-nit peak brightness. The Pro Max grows to 6.9 inches at the same refresh rate and a 2,608 × 1,200 resolution. Both screens use Samsung's M11 emitter material.
Camera hardware is identical at the top: a 200MP Samsung sensor with optical image stabilisation leads on both models. The Pro adds a 50MP telephoto and an 8MP ultrawide. The Pro Max upgrades to a 50MP periscope telephoto and a 50MP ultrawide. Both phones include a 32MP front camera and a Bose-tuned 2.1-channel speaker system.

The battery story
The K100 Pro's 8,580 mAh cell is already the bigger number in most comparisons. The Pro Max at 9,070 mAh pushes further. Both support 100W wired charging, 50W wireless, and reverse wireless at 22.5W — so topping up a phone this size won't require overnight charging. Both are rated IP66/IP68/IP69 and ship with HyperOS 3.0, Bluetooth 6.0, Wi-Fi 7, and NFC.
Both models include a Bose-tuned 2.1-channel audio system and ultrasonic fingerprint sensors.
Pricing and availability
The K100 Pro starts at roughly $550 (12/256 GB) and tops out around $700 (16/512 GB) at current exchange rates. The Pro Max opens at approximately $670 and reaches $890 for the 16 GB / 1 TB configuration. These are China prices only.
Neither phone has a confirmed global launch date. Based on the K90 to POCO F8 Pro timeline, TechTiper expects a POCO F9 Ultra rebrand to land internationally in September or October 2026. UK pricing, when it arrives, will reflect VAT and import margins — the Pro Max base could realistically land above £600.
