Google Pixel 11 Pro Fold: $1,899 foldable with triple the durability claims
Google's Pixel 11 Pro Fold is official, starting at $1,899 — a $100 bump over the Pixel 10 Pro Fold. The device launches August 20, 2026 in Obsidian and Olive, and pre-orders are open now via the Google Store, Verizon, AT&T;, T-Mobile, Best Buy, and Amazon. Early sign-ups through Google's marketing emails can score up to a $200 promo code redeemable by August 27.
The hardware
Google claims the Pixel 11 Pro Fold is three times more durable than its predecessor — a meaningful pledge given the Pixel 10 Pro Fold's troubled track record in real-world drop and water tests. The chassis is about 10% lighter and roughly 1mm thinner than last year's model, with slimmer bezels on both screens. The back is composite fiberglass; the outer screen is covered in Super Actua ceramic glass. A redesigned gearless hinge with a larger bend radius reduces the visible crease on the inner display. IP68 dust and water resistance is retained — notable for any foldable.
Both OLED panels — a 6.5-inch cover screen and an 8-inch inner display — hit 3,600 nits peak brightness, a 20% increase over the previous generation, with a 1–120 Hz adaptive refresh rate.

HiLight, Gemini, and cameras
The camera module now surrounds the flash with an LED ring called HiLight. It lights up for incoming calls from selected contacts and glows during hands-free Gemini AI interactions — a visual cue that the assistant is active.
Inside, the Tensor G6 chip pairs with 16GB of RAM, optimized for Gemini Intelligence tasks, and storage goes up to 1TB. A Titan M3 security chip handles device security.
The triple-camera array includes a 48MP f/1.7 main sensor, a 10.5MP f/2.2 ultrawide with a 127° field of view, and a 10.8MP f/3.1 telephoto at 10x optical zoom. Both the inner and outer selfie cameras are 10MP f/2.2. Circle to Search is baked in.
Battery and software
The 4,806 mAh battery is rated for over 24 hours of use. Wired charging hits 50% in around 30 minutes; wireless charging supports Qi 2.2 at up to 25W — 20% faster than the previous model. The Android interface adds a Bubbles feature that pins any app into a floating shortcut at the bottom-right corner of the inner screen, alongside familiar Split Screen and Drag and Drop multitasking.
The competition
Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold 8 launched in July 2026, giving it a three-month head start in stores. At $1,899, the Pixel 11 Pro Fold sits in the same bracket and leans on camera quality and Gemini AI depth as its differentiators. UK pricing hasn't been confirmed officially, but leaked figures put it around £1,829 for the base model, per TechCabal (Aug 6). Google UK carrier availability is expected but not yet confirmed.
