While Samsung is leading the smartphone market, the South Korean company is not doing as well as it might seem. The flagship models of Galaxy S series are sold worse every year. Many believed Galaxy S20 lineup had hit the bottom. As it turned out, sales still have room to fall.

What happened?

This year in January, the company introduced Samsung Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+ and Galaxy S21 Ultra smartphones. Now the South Korean media are reporting that the 2021 lineup is the worst in terms of sales in the last ten years, i.e. starting with Galaxy S5.

In the first half of the year, the company sold only 13.6 million smartphones. That's 20% less than the Galaxy S20 series for the same period last year. But the Galaxy S10 smartphones sold almost one and a half times better (+ 47%).

Another reason for the weak performance referred to by the Korean media is the Chinese manufacturers, which actively produce top solutions with interesting features, often at more affordable prices.
