Ghost of Yōtei Complete Edition lands October 1 with new story DLC and a roguelike mode
Ghost of Yōtei is getting a substantial post-launch push a year after its PS5 debut. Sony and Sucker Punch Productions announced a Complete Edition, a new story expansion called Echoes of Sekigahara, and a roguelike combat mode — all arriving October 1, 2026. If you already own the base game, the upgrade path costs $14.99; new buyers pay $69.99 for everything bundled together, per the PlayStation Blog.
The expansions
Echoes of Sekigahara is the headlining story add-on. It introduces a character named Nagato, who arrives on Ezo and pulls protagonist Atsu into a narrative split across two timelines: the present-day island and Atsu's flashbacks to the historical Battle of Sekigahara. The structure closely mirrors what Iki Island did for Ghost of Tsushima — a self-contained story chapter that deepens the main character's backstory. New enemies, weapons, armor sets, and dyes are included. The DLC is also available standalone for $15.
The second addition is Most Wanted, a roguelike survival mode built around replayability. Players clear waves of enemies, collect bonuses, and unlock additional playable characters — each with a distinct weapon style. Atsu uses dual katanas, Oyuki wields a kusarigama (a chain-sickle), and Nagato fights with a yari (spear). There's no seasonal battle pass attached; it's a straight endgame mode with no extra spend required, reports VGC.

Free patch and QoL
Launching alongside the paid content on October 1, a free update adds a transmog system (swap the look of armor without changing stats), new photo mode stamps, extra trophies tied to both expansions, and Beauty of Yōtei — a screensaver mode that cycles through scenic landscapes of Ezo. All PS5 owners get these regardless of which edition they hold.
The upgrade math
The Complete Edition bundles the base game, both new expansions, all Legends multiplayer content, and Digital Deluxe extras. At $69.99 it's a fair deal for newcomers. For anyone who bought Ghost of Yōtei at launch last October, the $14.99 upgrade — priced the same as the story DLC alone — is the more straightforward option. No PC release has been announced; this remains a PS5 exclusive for now.
