Sony PULSE Elevate gaming speakers launch November 12 — preorders open September 1
Sony has confirmed that the PULSE Elevate — its first wireless desktop speakers built for gaming — will go on sale November 12, 2026, with preorders opening September 1. Priced at $219.99 in the US and £199.99 in the UK, the speakers slot into Sony's growing PlayStation audio lineup alongside the PULSE Elite headset and PULSE Explore earbuds. The UK price works out roughly 8% cheaper than the US equivalent, making it a relative value pick for British buyers.
The hardware
Each speaker uses planar magnetic drivers — a design more common in high-end headphones than desktop speakers — paired with built-in woofers for bass reinforcement. Sony says the combination delivers accurate sound across the full frequency range, which matters most in games where positional audio (knowing where a sound is coming from) affects gameplay. The speakers support Sony's Tempest 3D AudioTech for that spatial positioning on PS5.
Connectivity runs through PlayStation Link, Sony's proprietary low-latency wireless protocol, covering PS5, PC, Mac, and the PlayStation Portal handheld. Bluetooth is also on board for phones and tablets, and both connections can stay active simultaneously. A USB-C adapter and charging dock come in the box.
The right speaker houses a microphone with AI noise rejection, designed to filter out keyboard clicks, mouse noise, and background conversation before passing voice to chat. The speakers can be positioned vertically or horizontally depending on your desk setup.

The competition
Sony is entering a premium desktop gaming speaker market where Razer's Nommo Pro and SteelSeries Arena 7 (around $299) are already established. The PULSE Elevate undercuts both on price but leans on PlayStation ecosystem lock-in — Tempest 3D and PlayStation Link — as its main differentiators rather than raw audio specs alone. That's a compelling pitch for PS5 owners who want a consistent experience across their setup, less so for PC-only gamers who can shop around.
Midnight Black is available globally; the White finish is limited to the US, UK, and select European markets. Preorders go live September 1 via PlayStation Direct and participating retailers, per PlayStation.Blog. Full pricing across regions was confirmed by Notebookcheck.
