Rogbid Loop V: Screenless Fitness Tracker with ECG and Bosch Sensor Surprises with 10-Day Battery Life
While tech giants compete over whose screen will burn the retinas of users brighter, Rogbid decided to take the path of radical asceticism. The company introduced Loop V — a fitness tracker that has no display at all. This device is for those who are tired of endless notifications on the wrist but still want to keep track of their heart rate — literally.
Instead of pixels — sensors
The absence of a screen hasn't stopped the developers from packing it with serious hardware. Monitoring of indicators is handled by the optical PPG RA2325 sensor and the six-axis accelerometer Bosch 270. The latter is not only for counting steps: it can detect abrupt movements that the system interprets as a user fall. For elderly people or daredevils — a very appropriate function.
The main feature of Loop V is ECG support. For a device costing $70 (3100 UAH), this looks like a claim for victory over more expensive competitors. In addition to heart function, the bracelet monitors body temperature and analyzes sleep by dividing it into four stages. Based on the obtained data, the system even generates suggestions on when it is best to go to bed to not feel exhausted in the morning. Menstrual cycle tracking and other standard activity tools are also provided.
Body and autonomy
The concept of "we don’t need a screen" positively influenced endurance. The built-in 220 mAh battery provides up to 10 days of operation in regular mode. If you decide to fully exploit it, the device will last 5–7 days. In standby mode, Loop V can stay for up to 30 days. This is significantly better than many smartwatches, although the Whoop, working on a similar screenless logic, requires a monthly paid subscription, whereas Rogbid offers a one-time purchase.
The body is made of aluminum alloy, and the strap is nylon — practical and convenient. Water resistance is declared at 3 ATM, which allows not taking off the bracelet during rain or hand washing, but it’s not suitable for deep dives. Synchronization requires a smartphone running iOS 13 or Android 8.0 and above.
By the way, if you're looking for a way to charge your smartphone as unusually as this bracelet looks, pay attention to how Ugreen released a wireless charger with its own cooling and display — the complete opposite of Rogbid’s minimalism.
