Hackers Leak New GTA VI Gameplay, Confirm Access to Game Build - A Major Blow to Rockstar
For several days now, there has been a series of leaks of GTA VI gameplay footage, orchestrated by the hacker group Cyberleek. The wrongdoers justify their actions by fighting against "evil corporations" and aiming to improve the gaming industry. It was previously assumed that Cyberleek had acquired footage from a presentation scheduled for August 27 on Netflix, but later it was discussed that the public was being shown footage from a year ago.
However, the situation turned out to be much more serious. Today, Cyberleek published another gameplay video of GTA VI, which showed Vice City from the height of an airplane flight. The game looks truly impressive, but that's not the point. At the end of the video, the person controlling Jason writes the word "LEEK" on the wall with bullets fired from a weapon, thereby confirming that hackers have access to a working, but not necessarily current, build of the game.
They can launch it, record a video, and make public the result of Rockstar Games' many years of work. And so far, the wrongdoers have only shown harmless content, and nothing will stop them from flooding the internet with plot spoilers or other critical information, which will be a disaster for the developers, similar to what the creators of The Last of Us II went through.
Rockstar and Take-Two are not yet commenting on the situation, only trying to remove videos, which are appearing more and more.
The release of Grand Theft Auto VI is scheduled for November 19 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series.
