Redmi Watch 6 Active: AMOLED smartwatch under $70 lands on Amazon ahead of global launch

Xiaomi's Redmi Watch 6 Active is already available on Amazon US at $66.49 — before any official global announcement. The watch launched in China at 349 CNY (around $50) and surfaced on Amazon and European retailer listings on August 17, per Notebookcheck. At that price, it undercuts the standard Redmi Watch 6 by over $50 and sits below most rivals with an AMOLED display.

The display and specs

The 1.85-inch AMOLED panel is one of the largest in Redmi's watch lineup. Peak brightness hits 1,200 nits, which should keep the screen legible in direct sunlight. The watch runs Xiaomi's HyperOS software and comes in black, silver, and orange.

Health tracking covers the essentials: continuous heart rate, blood oxygen (SpO₂), sleep, stress, and breathing exercises. There are 140-plus sports modes. IP68 water resistance means it handles rain and shallow submersion without issue.

Bluetooth calling is included — a built-in mic and speaker let you answer calls directly from the watch when paired to your phone. That's a feature most sub-$70 smartwatches skip.

Battery life

The 470 mAh battery delivers up to 12 days of standard use. Push it into power-saving mode and Xiaomi claims 18 days. With always-on display active, expect around 6 days. Those numbers are roughly in line with the previous generation.

Availability and price

The $66.49 Amazon US listing is live now, reports Memeburn. No UK retailer has confirmed stock yet. European leak pricing points to around €50, though a formal regional rollout date has not been announced. One caveat: Bluetooth calling support for US buyers hasn't been explicitly confirmed on the Amazon listing, even though Xiaomi highlights it on official channels. GPS is also absent — worth noting if you track outdoor runs without your phone.

For a sub-$70 AMOLED watch with this battery life, the Redmi Watch 6 Active is hard to ignore. The main question is whether Xiaomi follows through quickly on a UK and broader European launch.
