Xbox Series X25 Limited Edition: price, release date, and everything confirmed

Microsoft has announced the Xbox Series X25 Limited Edition, a numbered collector's console priced at $899.99 / £759.99 / €899.99, launching November 13, 2026. The hardware specs are identical to the standard Series X — this is a design piece, not an upgrade. Pre-orders open August 27, limited to one per customer.

The look

The X25 wears a translucent OG Green shell that calls back to the original Xbox Microsoft unveiled in 2001 — the one Bill Gates and Dwayne Johnson introduced on stage. Each unit is individually numbered. The bundled X25 Wireless Controller brings back the classic color-coded ABXY buttons (gone from modern Xbox pads for years), plus a faintly backlit "X" power button. The controller sells separately at $79.99 / £74.99 / €79.99, with pre-orders starting August 26 and retail availability from October 20.

Inside, nothing changes: 1TB SSD, disc drive, standard Series X silicon. The console ships with a free copy of Halo: Campaign Evolved — a remaster angle that adds real value for Game Pass subscribers who've never played the original.

The price question

At $899.99, the X25 sits at exactly the same price as the PS5 Pro in the US. In the UK it's £759.99 — actually £140 cheaper than Sony's performance-focused machine. That gap matters for how you frame the purchase: the PS5 Pro delivers a genuine hardware bump; the X25 delivers a numbered Green box and a wave of early-2000s nostalgia.

The $100 premium over a standard Series X 1TB is the collector's tax. Whether that's reasonable depends on how much the original Xbox means to you. Limited one-per-customer pre-orders and individually numbered units are a deliberate scarcity play — secondary market prices will almost certainly exceed retail once stock sells through.
