AMD overtakes Intel in sales of desktop processors

New AMD processors continue to dominate sales of large online retailers. In some locations, the company produces 75% of all shipments, which gives it a strategic advantage over Intel. According to reports, the seven best-selling processors on the Amazon network are from AMD's Ryzen series.

Curiously, the next three Intel architectures only have two that are part of the company's 10th generation processor portfolio. The latest members of the Rocket Lake lineup don't make it to the top 30.

The situation is similar in Newegg, where again three Intel chips are in the first positions - Core i7-11700K, Core i7-10700K and Core i9-11900K, which are respectively in 5th, 8th and 9th places. The remaining seven chips are manufactured by AMD.

German retailer Mindfacotry has sold significantly more AMD processors than competing Intel desktop chips. In this case, three out of four shipments came from the Ryzen series in the last month. As strange as it may sound, Intel sold even fewer processors in the Mindfactory network in June - only 14%.

We can hardly expect a major change in the balance of power in the coming quarters. Alder Lake's workflows, which are expected by the end of the year, will be of great interest. It has already been reported that the premiere could be pushed back to 2022, making it even more difficult for Intel to try to compete with AMD.
