Clicks Communicator arrives in December with 12GB RAM and a $499 early-bird price
If you want a physical-keyboard Android phone and want to pay less for it, September 30 is the deadline. Clicks has confirmed its Communicator smartphone ships in December 2026, per Engadget, and the $499 launch price jumps to $649 on October 1. The company — better known for its iPhone keyboard cases — is betting there's still a market for tactile typing on a proper smartphone.
The spec bump
The final hardware is meaningfully better than what Clicks first announced. RAM goes from 8GB to 12GB, a 50% jump that matters on Android 17 where background apps and AI features compete for memory. The battery grew too, from 4,000mAh to 4,350mAh, with a rated lifespan of 800-plus charge cycles.
One change is a retreat rather than an upgrade. Clicks originally planned a silicon-carbon battery, which can pack more energy into less space. Internal testing showed too many failures, so the company reverted to standard lithium-ion. It's a sensible call for a first device trying to build a reputation.

Keyboard, colors, and accessories
At checkout on the official site, buyers choose their keyboard layout — English QWERTY, French AZERTY, German QWERTZ, Korean, or Arabic. The phone comes in three colors (Smoke, Onyx, Clover) with twelve swappable back panels, including two faux-leather options.
Clicks has partnered with Dbrand on accessories. The MNML protective case runs $39, a two-pack Prism glass screen protector with installation frame is $35, and a two-year Clicks Care extended warranty costs $130. That warranty covers cracked screens and liquid damage with same-day replacement shipping — though each claim carries a $49 service fee.

Carrier and availability
For US and UK buyers, Clicks is launching its own Clicks Mobile eSIM service directly inside the phone, with two months of free data included, reports 9to5Google. A physical nano-SIM slot is also on board for anyone who prefers their existing carrier.
The closest competition, the Unihertz Titan 2 Elite, sits in the $250–500 range without the carrier integration or the Dbrand ecosystem. Communicator is priced as a premium product — whether the physical keyboard is worth the premium is the question buyers have until September 30 to answer at the lower price.
