Vivo has confirmed the V80 will launch on October 6 in India, and its headline spec is a 7,200 mAh battery — the largest the company has ever fitted into a V-series phone. That's 44% more capacity than the 5,000 mAh cells in most Android flagships right now, yet the V80 is built as a thin, everyday device rather than a rugged tank. The phone targets content creators who want long shooting sessions without hunting for a charger.
The battery claim
Vivo says the V80 delivers up to 14 hours of continuous navigation and close to 40 hours of video playback. Charging uses 90W FlashCharge — not the fastest in the industry, but enough to top up a 7,200 mAh cell in a reasonable window. For context, the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra still ships with 5,000 mAh. Vivo is betting that endurance sells in a segment where most makers compete on processing speed.

The camera setup
The triple rear array pairs a 50MP Sony LYT-700C main sensor (with optical stabilisation) with a 50MP 3x periscope telephoto and an 8MP ultra-wide — all under a ZEISS co-engineered system. ZEISS portrait modes simulate 85mm and 100mm focal lengths to avoid the face distortion common on wide-angle selfies. A 50MP front camera with autofocus and a 92° field of view rounds out the package. Video tops out at 4K/60fps, with cinematic colour modes included.

The 6.59-inch OLED panel runs at 1.5K resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate. Peak brightness hits around 5,000–6,000 nits in HDR zones, per Digit.in, while the minimum drops to 1 nit for dark-room reading. The phone runs OriginOS 7 on a Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset, and Vivo promises up to six years of security updates — matching Google Pixel 9 and Samsung's current pledge. Three colours are confirmed: Sunrise Anthem, Horizon Blue, and Stellar Black. The phone also carries IP68 and IP69 dust and water resistance ratings.
Availability outside India
The V80 launches October 6 in India at an expected price of around ₹47,999 (roughly $575), according to SmartPrix. No US or UK release has been confirmed. Vivo's V-series has historically stayed close to Asian markets, so Western availability within the next few months is unlikely. If the ZEISS camera partnership and Vivo's premium optics ambitions eventually push the V80 westward, a higher regional price tag is probable.
