Vivo X500 launches as the first phone with Dimensity 9600M, Zeiss cameras, and a 7500mAh battery
Vivo has officially launched the X500, the base model of its 2026 flagship series, and it arrives with specs that punch well above entry-level: the world's first Dimensity 9600M processor, a 7500mAh battery, Zeiss-tuned cameras, and native 8K video recording. China sales started September 21; the Pro and Pro Max models land in Europe on October 27, though the standard X500's global timeline is still unconfirmed.
The hardware
The X500 runs on MediaTek's Dimensity 9600M — a 3nm chip that is, in practice, a Dimensity 9500 with a Scheduling Engine 3.0 software upgrade rather than a full generational leap, per Gizmochina. It pairs with LPDDR5X Ultra RAM and UFS 4.1 storage across three configs: 12/256GB, 12/512GB, and 12GB/1TB.
The display is a 6.59-inch flat OLED with 1.5K resolution, a 144Hz refresh rate, and peak brightness of 4000 nits — competitive with anything in this price range.

The cameras
The main shooter uses a 50MP Sony LYTIA-828 sensor (1/1.28-inch) with Zeiss optics and Vivo's own V3+ image chip. A 64MP Sony LYTIA 610 telephoto handles 3x optical zoom (72mm equivalent), with CIPA 5.5-level stabilization on both lenses and a 15cm minimum focus distance. Vivo claims 4K at 120fps and native 8K Live streaming — a first for the brand. For context, Samsung's S25 Ultra and iPhone 16 Pro already do 4K at 120fps; 8K capture remains niche, and Vivo hasn't detailed the hardware encoder behind the claim.

Battery and build
The 7500mAh silicon-carbon cell supports 90W wired and 40W wireless charging — and despite its size, the phone is just 8.15mm thin and weighs 211–213 grams depending on variant. It also carries IP68 and IP69 ratings, an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, and NFC.
Worth flagging: global X500 models may ship with smaller batteries than the Chinese version — a pattern Vivo has followed before.

Price and availability
In China, pricing converts to roughly $821 (12/256GB), $895 (12/512GB), and $1,045 (12GB/1TB). A US price around $899 has been floated by third-party trackers, but Vivo hasn't confirmed it. The X500 Pro Max — the series' true 2nm flagship — is not expected in the US soon.
