In this year, Realme launched its new flagship smartphone series GT, adding to it models Realme GT 5G, Realme GT Neo and others. Now it turns out that the manufacturer along with this decided to close another series of devices.

Goodbye, X

They decided to get rid of X series, which does not have a clear positioning and includes high and mid-level smartphones. Its last addition was the X3 SuperZoom and X50 Pro smartphones, released in 2020.

In an interview with TechRadar, Realme Europe and Realme India CEO Madhav Sheth said that the GT series officially replaces the company's previous X series.

"X will be replaced by GT; thus, GT - is the new X"

According to his words, we can conclude that only the X series will be affected by the changes, while but other ranges like C and numbered series are likely to remain unchanged.

Thus, in 2022 we will wait for Realme GT 2 or a smartphone with another name, which will retain the premium features for a low price.
